Qua
nhiều thế hệ , Scotland đã là quê hương và nguồn cảm hứng về cảnh quan tuyệt đẹp đối với các nghệ sĩ thị giác và tạo hình. Bộ
sưu tập của Trung tâm Mỹ thuật Thành phố phản ánh sự phong phú của sáng
tạo và tài năng , có những điển hình của nghệ thuật Scotland từ thế kỷ 17
đến ngày nay.
Bộ sưu
tập bao gồm một loạt các chuyên đề được mô tả thông qua nhiều phong cách và chất liệu. Những bức tranh sơn dầu truyền thống vẽ chân dung của một số nhân vật quần chúng được trưng bày cùng với những tác phẩm nghệ thuật sắp đặt đương đại. Ai là người nghệ sĩ đằng sau những tác phẩm nghệ thuật ấy?
A - Z: Alphabetical Tour of Scottish Art giới thiệu những tác giả góp mặt trong bộ sưu tập phong phú này. Họa sĩ, nhà điêu khắc, nhiếp ảnh gia và các nhà sản xuất tranh in cho thấy tất cả các đặc trưng, đại diện cho các phong trào mỹ thuật chính đã định hình bản sắc nghệ thuật của Scotland. Từ William Allan đến Aleksander Zyw , triển lãm này xuyên suốt thời gian, chủ đề và chất liệu cho người xem khám phá sự rộng lớn và đa dạng của nghệ thuật Scotland.
Scotland Art Collection, được bảo quản bởi Viện Bảo Tàng và Phòng Trưng Bày Edinburgh của thành phố, là một Bộ sưu tập được công nhận có tầm quan trọng quốc gia của Scotland.

The art of the Wyeths – N.C., Andrew and Jamie – is a direct result of their familiarity with and fascination for life along midcoast Maine, reaching back to N.C.’s decision to bring his family to the area in 1920. The Wyeths’ interests have included the coast’s dramatic shoreline and islands, including Monhegan, the lives of fishermen and farmers, and the boats, houses, barns, lighthouses and other structures scattered throughout the midcoast. Their interest in these subjects is part of a long-standing tradition of work done by artists and artisans in Maine since the eighteenth century. In addition to works by the Wyeths, the exhibition will also include a selection of paintings by James G. Babbidge, George Bellows, Walter Dean, James Fitzgerald, Rockwell Kent, Fitz Henry Lane, William Edward Norton, William Pierce Stubbs, Frederick Waugh, and Andrew Winter; and a selection of ship models that include the Red Jacket clipper ship, the seven master schooner Thomas Lawson, and the only known ship model by John Haley Bellamy. Organized by Farnsworth Registrar Angela Waldron.

How is color an artistic tool, and how much do arrangements of colors draw us to certain works of art: How do paintings affect how we see the world – how do they color our vision? This exhibition will examine the working methods and the impact of color choices in compositions by Childe Hassam, Joseph De Camp, Willard Leroy Metcalf, George Bellows, Rockwell Kent, Marsden Hartley, Arthur Dove and other nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century paintings from the Farnsworth Collection.
